Online Book Club meeting
About the event
On the 26th of February (5-6 PM) we will discuss Alan Greene's "Derogating from the European Convention on Human Rights in Response to the Coronavirus Pandemic: If not Now, When?" in our second (online) Book Club meeting.
- Topic: in this Book Club meeting we will discuss the limitation of fundamental rights during emergency situations (as happens now with the COVID-19 pandemic). To what extent can an emergency justify such a limitation / curtailment of fundamental rights? How can the proportionality be assessed? Can enforcement be a justification? ... Many questions left for some discussion.
- Format: we will talk about this article in an accesible and friendly atmosphere, with a moderator leading the conversation. If you wish to participate, please register and you will receive a copy of the article. Sometime in the coming days we will provide you with a number of questions / statements on the basis of which we will hopefully have a pleasant, interesting and enriching conversation.
We hope you enjoy the reading and we already look forward to your reading experience!
